Cash’s Boyhood Home Becomes Museum
Johnny Cash’s boyhood home has been fully restored and opened as a museum. Arkansas State University purchased the Dyess, Arkansas, home and diligently returned it to how it looked when the Cash family moved in as part of the Dyess Colony Resettlement Area in 1935. An annual Johnny Cash Music Festival, now in its fourth year, raised money for the project.
