A new edition of three iconic works for unaccompanied viola by J.S. Bach, A Performers Guide for Violists Unaccompanied Bach Edition contains detailed descriptions of fingerings, bowings and phrasing ideas. Included in this book are the Preludes to Suite no. 1 and 3, as well as the Chaconne from Partita no. 2. Written for professional violists, teachers and students alike, this book provides a fresh approach to learning and playing the unaccompanied works of Bach.

Author Leslie Faye Johnson received her viola performance training at The Juilliard School (B.M/M.M.) and pedagogical training from the University of Washington (D.M.A.). Leslie’s private viola students have received numerous awards over the years. Leslie is also a chamber musician and recitalist and has released a 3-CD set of all six Bach Cello Suites for the viola.
