Xaphoon Pocket Sax is a tiny injection-molded sax with an incredibly big sound. The sound is described as somewhere between that of a saxophone and a clarinet, and two octaves lower than a flute of the same size. It uses standard saxophone reeds.
The Pocket Sax is played by many professional musicians, including Sting and Mark Stewart, guitarist, sax, and Xaphoon player for Paul Simon. Stewart used two Xaphoons on tour with Simon, a “C” model and a “G.” “Paul, Art, the band, and crew are all just knocked out every day by these humble giants,” says Stewart.
