In August I had the opportunity to visit Fox Cities, Wisconsin, a region of Northeastern Wisconsin along the Fox River. It is made up of 19 communities, including the cities of Appleton, Kaukauna, Menasha, Neenah, and Oshkosh. The trip delivered all that I had anticipated in small town charm, but I had not expected the region’s enthusiastic support for the arts, vibrant live music scene, and friendly, artsy vibe.

Michael Barrett and Leslie Tomkins readily admit there was a somewhat selfish reason for founding a music festival in Moab, Utah, 22 years ago. For about six months prior to their visit to Moab, the couple had already been discussing the possibility of starting another music festival.
