Following the 12-day festival, there’s a four-day musical raft trip down the Colorado River. Together, four or five musicians, 15 guests, and a small crew travel down the river, stopping to camp and listen to music along the way. “As far as camping goes, it’s pretty deluxe,” explains Barrett. “They set up tables, the crew cooks, and you eat with real wine glasses, flatware, and ceramic plates.” The once-in-a-lifetime raft trip includes all of your food, drinks, and lodging for $2,100.
Always held during the first week in September, this year’s Moab Music Festival is August 28-September 8, and will feature jazz guitarist John Pizzarelli’s quartet, among many other talented musicians.
