Making Music Product Spotlight: Balu Musik horn mutes and mellophone

While at the NAMM Show 2020 in Anaheim, California, Making Music had the chance to speak Hannah at the Balu Musik booth about their horn mutes and the Valhalla Brass mellophone.

Balu Mutes are made in the United States with US materials and labor. They offer clear and projected sound, no bad notes in any register, dual-layer cork (a Balu innovation), adjustable tuning slides, and strong body construction.

The Balu mellophone is the world’s first mellophone with the full range of a horn in F. Another innovation of the instrument is two interchangeable leadpipes to accommodate horn players and trumpet players alike.
