Magic Fluke Cricket
This from Magic Fluke Cricket features wood neck and fingerboard mounted on a plastic body. Just launched this year, Cricket is a durable, versatile travel instrument for seasoned violinists, or a great starter instrument for beginners. Its three-way adjustable chin and shoulder rest has a unique design that allows comfortable playablity. “Because plastics can be engineered to have properties close to wood, acoustics can be very similar and in some cases enhanced,” says Dale Webb, Cricket designer and owner/founder of Magic Fluke.
Busy New York City musician Alex Sovronsky has purchased a Cricket, and plays it regularly. “As a professional musician that’s always on the go, it’s wonderful to finally find an instrument that is so durable, smaller than my full size acoustic violin, and all without sacrificing any of the comfort or sound quality and volume. These are truly superb instruments and it’s perfect for any session or gig musicians.”
MSRP: $339
