Everyday Chord Sequence
The Andalusian Cadence or Diatonic Phrygian Tetrachord, written I – bVII – bVI – V (A-G-F-E in the key of A), is the most frequently used musical sequence. It’s common across almost every genre of music. To prove it David Garland, a musician, composer, producer and host of WNYC, created a list of 50 recordings that span five centuries, including compositions from Louis Armstrong, The Beach Boys, Tennessee Ernie Ford, and Simon & Garfunkle.
