On one Sunday this fall Directory Chris Shimojima took advantage of the public wifi hotspots at nine New York City subway stations to unite 11 musicians virtually. Each of the street musicians set up a music stand with an iphone, while composer and conductor Ljova set up with 11 notebook computers on chairs in Bryant park to conduct the video streams of each performer.
