Paul Barton is a classical pianist born in Yorkshire and currently living in Thailand. He has been using his talent to comfort blind, sick, and elderly elephants at the Elephants World sanctuary founded by his wife just outside of Kanchanaburi. Barton said the first time he played for the elephants, an elderly male stopped eating breakfast and started listening as soon as Barton played Beethoven. “[He] was often in pain. I like to think maybe the soothing music gave him some comfort in the darkness.”
