Neil Citron’s Gear

“There’s a direct box called the JDX that’s made by Radial Engineering. Usually a direct box just records a clean guitar that you have to re-amp, and it’s pretty terrible sounding. But the JDX gives you a speaker emulated guitar tone. So for someone who’s recording at midnight, and his wife is screaming at him to shut-up, you can record this pretty quietly and it sounds really good. It’s what we used on Meryl and Rick, so when I re-amped later I still had some sound from the JDX that I could mix with the re-amped guitar sound.”
